I think the availability of dedicated servers is more often than not down to the hardware vendor or the publisher not the developer.
Your irrational ire would therefore might be misplaced.
MS are providing the servers for CoD on XB1. Perhaps you should address your hate mail to Sony if they don't provide them.
All this BS willy waving will be put to rest once digital foundry or LOT or Ars Technica get a hold of these bad boys and rip them to pieces.
Even then it will be the software that really shifts the units.
People will still no doubt enjoy arguing over any little detail otherwise N4G won't earn any advertising revenue!
Having read that Eurogamer piece earlier I ended up agreeing with him and I think the points he made were valid and well considered for an opinion piece, especially when you could argue that he had already made his mind up in his initial dislike for the XBox One.

I hope for Sonys sake they get these too otherwise it will be a massive selling point for Xbox.
I know we all hate on CoD but the hardcore players will go with the best connections. The USA is Xbox central and if Sony really wants to crack that market open they will have to address this no two ways about it.
I'm sure that even the most diehard Sony fan must realise this.

There are some incredible pilots on the xbox servers I use.
Man I want this game soooo much.
This game is a whole new level of EPIC.
CoD doesn't hold a candle to this level of combat, action and squad play.

They were waiting for Sony to make the first move. Now they might counter with a limited launch earlier in less countries.

Ah but consider this:
What if MS deliberately reduced the number of launch countries to allow them to launch a limited strike earlier than Sony but still in most key markets.
If they did come out and announce an earlier launch date then I would surmise that was their plan all along.
It would be a small PR coup.

What? Have you not seen the videos of Xbox at Gamescom? They had a large press event.
There are loads of Xbox Ones actually running software. Ryse, Forza, Dead Rising and CoD were all running on actual hardware and they all looked pretty final to me bar any software update.
The thing is in full tilt production no doubt. I agree stock might be less than PS4 at launch but that's not a disaster.

I think part of the fun here will be learning to put together great combos and a free flowing style that will allow you to take on a large group - something Batman got so right.
You have to consider that the guy playing here might only be a noob. A bit of practice and the combos could be wicked.
I really want to try this out. Hope its at Eurogamer Expo in London next month.

Completely agree with every point you make. MS can do no right in many peoples eyes here on N4Sony.
I'm happy for all the changes they have made and its made me now seriously consider Xbox One. They screwed up but they have made massive strides to try and put that right.

Well my view....
XBox One at launch. PS4 maybe in early 2014 once I see how the system works and is received.
XBox has better launch lineup in my opinion. Proven multiplayer Eco system. Free copy of FIFA 14 in UK which is a big deal. Confirmed dedicated servers for CoD ( I know PS4 will also likely have but what if not?).

Yes.
Sure they don't always get it right but then who does when reporting from external unverified sources? On the whole I find them to be trustworthy in the vast majority of their reporting or speculation.
